SUMMARY Ministries United provides serves and sponsors several low-income families, while advancing in free education for children and free healthcare to children and adults. We are looking for a volunteer grant writer in interim and possibly part time in the future. We are an International Christian organization that is literally reaching around the world in doing good works.
The Grant Writer is responsible for securing funding for Ministries United Intl operations, needs through prospect research, writing and timely submission of high-quality, compelling letters of inquiry, proposals and grant reports to new and existing private foundations and government funders. The Grant Writer will maintain a portfolio of funders and work as part of a grants team. The position works closely with CEO and Senior Development Director, fundraising, communications and program staff, as well as private funders.
The Grant Writer will work independently and in collaboration with Executive Director
DUTIES AND TASKS 1. Research, write, proofread and submit high-quality letters of inquiry, proposals and reports for current and new programs.
2. Perform appropriate follow-up related to funded proposals, e.g. thank you letters, contracts or letters of agreement, report deadlines, and grant information sheets.
3. Conduct prospect and program research to identify and analyze potential funding sources, deadlines and application requirements.
4. Maintain complete, accurate and timely records of grants, letters, reports and other work products; including updating grant tracking systems in Excel and Zsystem and paper files.
5. Work with Finance on the collection and analysis of budget information for applications; work with Programs team.
